I am recommending the CPA Academy (website: cpaacademy.org) as a convenient resource allowing tax professionals to stay current with their continuing professional education. The academy boasts to be the "largest provider of free CPE in the profession". Members (it is free to join) may register for live CPE webinars. If you are able to view the webinar live the CPE is free. However, when an emergency at work occurs causing you to miss that scheduled webinar all is not lost! If you miss the live webinar you can still catch the webinar (now previously recorded) by searching the archived webinar section, the bad news is you can't get CPE credits for watching a previously recorded (not live) webinar.
Additionally, the CPA Academy offers a nice self-study option allowing members to watch certain previously recorded webinars followed by taking a quiz. If the member passes the quiz he or she will be rewarded with CPE credit(s). Unlike the live webinars, the self-study option is not free.
